Rain, Rain, Go Away…Come Again Another Day… Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Good Morning,

Welcome to WNG, all news, all the time! I’m Mr. Troy Harris. Today is Tuesday, March 31st, 2020. It is “C” day. Today’s weather will be rainy with a high of 46 degrees. Today’s special activity comes from our health teacher, Mr. John Howanski. Below is what he suggests for parents on this rainy Tuesday.

Students are use to an established routine during the school day. Below are some useful tips on how to keep your kids happy and healthy.

  • Make a routine for your children: our bodies and minds thrive off of routine, so creating some consistency in the day will be helpful.
    • Continue to have a consistent wake-up time and bed-time.
    • Make sure your children have some time to take care of their body and mind.

Such as:

      • Exercise
      • Meditate
      • Take a quiet walk or steady jog (Activity)
      • Watch a funny movie
      • Read a book
      • Try out a hobby-craft making,painting, etc.
    • Schedule time outside in the sunshine and fresh air (but not today :))
    • Continue to eat meals at typical times, doing our best to eat foods that fuel our bodies.
  • Remind your child or children to take time throughout the day be grounded.
    • Notice your breathing (Even take a few deep breaths and notice how you feel afterwards)
    • Feel your feet on the ground
    • Notice the colors around you
    • Hear the sounds around you

(Remember practicing mindfulness doesn’t have to be scheduling 20-40 minutes a day. You can take moments throughout your entire day)

Remember to work on your QuickTables and Aleks Pie. In addition, remember to read and take your AR tests.

Have a great day New Garden!

Congratulations to…

  1. Ayxa from Mrs. de Lorraine’s 2nd grade class for completing her multiplication QuickTables.
