3rd Grade’s Fall Fun
There’s tons of Fall Fun going on in 3rd grade, To start, they did “Pumpkin Math.” Third graders had to estimate the weight of their pumpkin, then they had to find the actual weight. They also had to measure the circumference. After that, they cut the top off and wrote about what they saw using great adjectives. Again, they had to use their estimating skills to write down how many seeds they thought were hiding in their pumpkin. Then they had the task of counting each and every seed. After all of their hard work and making their brains sweat, they had fun designing what they wanted their pumpkins to look like. With the help of an adult, their pumpkins turned out awesome!
5th Grade Visits the CCTCHS
Last week, New Garden 5th graders visited Chester County Technical College High School. It was an interactive visit and the students had hands on experience with cosmetology, auto collision repair, criminal justice and carpentry just to name a few. The goal of the visit was to increase all 5th grade students’ awareness of the option to attend CCTCHS in the future, and for students to learn about the available programs, as well as the criteria needed to enter the program.
